Honda-mounted Rob Spring came away with top brass in the 250cc ]uniorclass at Clark's Branch Raceway in Roseburg after slingshotting to two impressive moto wins. Also winner during the day were Ryan Hu((man, winner of the combined 80cc class and Tony Graves, victor in the 125 and 250cc Intermediate events. In the first combined 250ccJunior/ Intermediate race it was the Kawasaki of Curt Cunningham and the Honda of Graves leading the competition with Spring and Honda jockey Brian Senn leading the C class competition in third and fourth_ Cunningham did a superb job of maneuvering his KX into a lead he would take to the finish over Graves. Spring did the deed in the C class portion over Senn and Mike Wilkinson. Moto two had Graves getting the nod for the overall B win via 2-1 ride while. Spring used his flawless I-I tally to take top C brass over Wilkinson (3-2) and Alan McComb (4-3). Graves had some stiff competition in the I25cc B class from Team Green riders Cunningham and JeH Daily. Graves got out front in moto one and held 0(( a hoard of fast locals consistingofCunningham, Daily, Monty. Spalding and Chris Nicholls. Moto two was much the same as Graves again did his famous disappearing act and went on to log a I-I performance, good for his second overall win of the day to beat Daily (3-2) and Cunningham. who was third. Huffman has recently called itquits in the 60cc class and is now concentrating on the larger 80cc machinery, riding for Yamaha support. Today Hu((man was the only B rider on hand and ran with a largegroupofC riders. Huffman taught theC riders a lesson in the agony of defeat as the diminutive speedster went on to a total demolition of both mOlOS. Travis Berry was Hu((man's closest competition and carded I-I rides to bag the C class over Shawn Highland and Californian Greg Church. In the 30-40 class it was a classic showdown between Honda pilots Rod Nordstrom and Gary Bault, who was making his class debut. The two expro riders put on a super display of throttle work for the spectators with Nordstrom taking top cash with 1-1 rides to beat Bault (2-2). Results OPEN c: 1. Scott Pfaff (Han); 2.
