Vince DeVane flies his Yamaha off a Dade City jump in the first 125cc A moto. Post manhandles Dade CityMX By Ben Sanders DADE CITY, FL, OCT. 26 Pat Post captured the win in the 25+ class during round seven of the World Sports-sponsored Florida Gold Cup Series today with runaway wins in both motos. Marcus Pedrero smoked both I 25cc B molOS and Steve Young's 2-1 mark gave him the overall in the 250cc B class. Post grabbed the lead in the second turn of the first 25+ malO, following Kevin Seidl's holeshol. Post turned up the pace and left the field behind while cruising lO the easy win. eidl dropped inlO second and followed Post lO the checkers while Steve Rejdia defended his third place position from the challenges of Woody Strickland and David Indiveri. Rejdia and Strickland held their places through the malO, but Indiveri was passed by Roger Ambs in the closing laps for fourth. Seidl again holeshot in malO two and this time managed to stay ahead of Post for almost three laps. As the two moved out from the rest of the pack, however, Post slipped into the lead. When they came around for the final lap Seidl pulled alongside of Post by clearing a set of doubles entering the last turn. The two flew into the turn in a dead heat, but Post held the line and got back on it sooner to take the win. Ambs had run third for most of the race with Indiveri just back in fourth, but Rejdia passed them both with a late malO charge. JeH Zimmerman holeshot the first malO of the highly-competitive I 25cc B class with Charles Sybert and Pedrero just behind and pouring it on. The top three riders ripped up the sandy Dade City track for three la'ps, driving through every corner, every straight and every jump side-by- ide. Pedrero was finally able to pull away from the fracas and went on lO win. Zimmerman held second until he crashed in a bt:rm, allowing Sybert to take the number two spot after hold-' ing off a late malO charge from Danny Zullo. In mota two it was Sybert who grabbed the holeshol. Pedrero was in second and soon moved up to take the lead and cruise lO the overall; Sybert again took second with Todd Gardner a solid third. Zullo, meanwhile, moved up to place fourth. The first 250cc B mota was a oneman show as Young pulled the holeshot and never looked back. Tim Denardis charged up from a mediocre stan lO second before falling and dropping back to third. Brent Cole took advantage of Denardis' mistake to grab second. Young again holeshot in the second mota and stretched out a fair lead over Lenard Legget and the rest of the field in a few laps. Dwayne Gent was being challenged by Samuel Allen for third when the two tangled and went down, leaving the way open for Denardis to charge past Legget and move in on Young. Young heldon to the lead until the last lap when Denardis was able to slip by on the back section of the track and pull away. Young took second .in the malO and secured the overall.
