Sunny skies and brisk fall temperatures greeted riders and
spectators at Muddy Creek's
October race. The race drew
riders from seven states.
Nonh Carolina's Mike Andrews
won one moLO of the I 25cc Pro class
and one moLO of the 250cc Pro classes.
Ron "Wirehead" Jones won the other
250cc Pro maLO and one maLO of the
Open Pro class.
Andrews led the pack Tram the start
in the first 125cc Pro moLO. jim Chesler and Tommy Rios followed with
Chester running second. Chester's
bike [Jew and Chris Brewer moved by
Rios into second. Andrews LOok the
maLO win, Brewer fell and Rios finished second.
Rios, on his Barr's Competition
bi ke, LOok the holes hot the second
mota with Andrews in tow. Andrews
pulled along ide several times, but
couldn't make the pas and Rios took
the win.
Mark Ashwonh pulled the holeshot the first malO of the 250cc Pro
c1as . Andrews and Chester were close
with the pre sure on. Andrews LOok
the lead on lap two and Rios moved
to second. They finished ill that order
"'Ith jane' working his way from
10th LO finish fourth.
jones got the holcshot the second
maLO and weill onLO win. Mike Bradshaw started second but Rios worked
h is way up and took the second
position.
jones dominated the first moLO of
Ihe Open Pro c1as as he led from
stan LO finish. Ashworth finished
second ahead of Bradshaw.
Jones led Ihe second moto on' lap
one, but injured himself when he got
outof shape coming down the hill on
lap two and had LO pull off. Ashwonh wa charging and easily took
the win ahead of Bradshaw.
