Tyler, Munson manhandle Albany Supercross By Clay Ught ALBANY, OR, OCT. 26 Washington speedsters Scott Tyler and Jamie Munson dominated during Professional action at the opening race of the 1986-87 Motocross Northwest-sanctioned season at Albany Supercross. _Tyler won the Open and 250cc Pro events while Munson finished second to Tyler in the 250cc class and took a win in the 125cc Pro event. Rain all week long made the sandy track a to~1 quagmire. Over two inches of rain fell Sunday, including heavy rain as the 80cc B class gated for moto one. Ryan Huffman stayed on two wheels the longest to emerge the winner in moto one after 10 soupy laps while Danny U1ven, Adam West, Travis Markell and Rich Browning filled the top five. In the second contest it was .Huffman and Ulven dueling for the lead until Huffman lost his machine in "Leachs Lake" and dropped to third where he would finish behind overall winner Ulven and Markell. In the 80cc C class, consistency paid off for Kawasaki rider Chad McVay, who posted 4-2 rides to nab the overall win. The first moto was topped by Mel Stanerson over Troy Kibble and Yamaha-mounted Monty Harris. The st~('ond lime out saw Les Shellhous nab the moto win but, just like moto one winner Stanerson, finished way back in his other moto and placed McVay into the winners circle. The Ope\l machines had very little dif£iculty circulating the 2.0-mile course and were led by Yamaha support rider Tyler in the first moto 6f combined ProlB action. Local rider Wes Hanson was lone Pro, Tyler's closest competition, nearly a half lap down, ht'a Hy-Yech Motorcycle Components. 12860 Bradley Ave., Sylmar, CA 91342 (818) 362-5534 COUPLES BY COTTEN Half-a Heart FOR HIli: Tell H.r You Ca..: Show The World If You Da.. 1 FOR HER: Don't let Your Man Go Out Without His Half-a-H.art Onl PRICE: $SS.OO $38.00 $20.00 (While Supplies Last) _ CONLON KAWASAKI, INC.
