The experimem as very ucce sful and the emhusism of fans and racers was as positive nd jubilant as the nights' best rider, ob Damron. Damron rounded out the 1986AMA Camel PTa season with wo very solid finishes in the Junior .vision and tonight he further proved t at he is keenly tuned to the demands of racing. At the Clash of the green light in the final Damron was into the first corner with Cory Perreault, a hot new prospect from San Jose. Perreaults' hard oharging style brought the two rdcers LOgether several time in the early running but neither fell. The smooth as silk track and wide racing surface allowed the riders a number of lines through thecorners.1L was because of this that Damron was able to sct up Perreault; he'ttake Perreault into the corner hard and use an outside line which invited Perreault in low. Damron then would make a point out o[ the corner and dive back underneath Perreault coming out. Their baule carried them 20 feet in front of the pack of 10 other competitors. Damron carried the lead to the checkers jlnd Perreault was able to hold off Kris Kiser. For the early pan of Ihe final Frank Sandwz held third place behind Perreault but a near brush with the wall in the third turn allowed Kiser to take the posi tion away. Damron and his Rotax were picture perfect. Results eO: 1. JeN Gabhart (Yam); 2. Junior Alvernaz (Yam): 3. Shaun RusseIlIYam). 80: 1. Jake Zemke (Ysm). 250 NOV: 1. Randy Cechelto IHonl. 250 JR: 1.
