Williams was seriously injured on his first ride there, puncturing a lung and sustaining several broken ribs. He JUSt had six weeks to heal before the next race. Williams is tough and he endured up to six hours of physical therapy each day so he could ride the last three hillclimbs. His first ride at Freemansburg was super but the timer failed. Clark had an eight-point lead on Bowlby going into the last race, but that was not a comfortable lead against Bowlby.
