WHITMIRE, SC, SEPT. 21 1986 MODELS IN STOCK! Results Gravitt stampedes Indian Creek Enduro KTM-moumed Allen Gravitt beat Can-Am rider Joey Hopkins by a mere 15 seconds at the tiebreaker to overall the SE&TRA Indian Creek Enduro, a round of the AMA Regional Championship Enduro Series. The many creek crossings and tigbt woods sections fit into Gravitt's style of riding, but Hopkins wasn't going to give in to Gravitt's reputation, Botb riders d[opped 16 points, after a 20-mile tight section was dropped from the scoring. Mysteriously, tbe arrows were misguided just before the fifth check and by the time they were straightened out Mitch McRee was the first person through that check. McRhee started on the 20th row. The first section put all of tbe competitors on tberr toes right from the start. Hopkins had a six through that section while Allen had a seven along with Mitch McRee, Bob Shillinger and Bryan Adams. But by the time tbe gas slOp rolled around, Gravitt was hoolin' and hollerin', knowing he bad puttbe move on'his rivals. Can-Am rep John Fero was the only entry in the AA class today, and he dropped 21 points, but not without misbap. Before key time Fero was heard teasing Bob Shillinger about a tire lUbe strapped to his KTM's front fender. And then we found Fero at the first reset looking for a lUbe to repair his £Iat. Meanwbile, Shillinger bad to battle it out with KTM rider McRee for the 250cc A class trophy. McRee dropped 18 points with Shillinger trailing on his heels with 19 points. Making a name for himself in the Open B class is Derrell Cox who has been consistently giving fellow Husky rider Dale Stegall a run for the gold. Today Cox was presented the overall B tropby for his 22 points which left Dale first place in the Open B class. 250- A: 1. Mich McRee (KTM); 2. Bob Shillinger (KTMI; 3. Greg Robens (Suzl. OPEN A: 1.
