fuel burning motorcycles make over
175 passes in what was the first event
run by promoter Larry Pyle. It was
Pyle that stepped in when the original MDRA-sanctioned event was in
jeopardy of being cancelled; Pyle and
the MDRA's Ron Loggans worked
out a comprorpise so points scored
from the Thunder Nationals would
count towards the MDRA championship.
Pyle's event featured racers from
all over the nation; paying 19 cents a
mile for out of state racers and supplying all the nitJomethane they
could use.
Eliminations for Top Fuel began
with Trett taking the bye run in the
