Chris Coleman seemed to have lit· tle trouble in winning both sets of moLOS in the I 25i::c and 250cc Expert classes. In the Open Expert competition Mike Dougherty and his KTM found no one else able LOcatch him over the double and triple jumps. Riders from New England and Canada diced with the Amateurs of District Three, while a good showing of Novice class riders turned out. Matt Drake grabbed the holeshot in moto one of the 250cc Expert class with Chris Coleman following. Orake held off Coleman until the third lap and then let CpLeman get away. Bill Denman cruiseCl LO third behind Coleman and Drake on the stadium style track. . Moto two saw Drake repeat his start, but within a few laps C<;>leman took control. Drake kept Coleman in sight although he couldn't· gain any ground on him. Keith McCarty picked up third when Denman pulled off the track. . Ethan Goodrich collected the overall 250cc Amateur class win by taking the first moto with Randy Gardner. following. Mike Goff passed Gardner on lap two only to fall back to fourth on the next lap.
