Faria again at OCSpdwy By Scott Daloisio COSTA MESA, CA, SEPT. 19 The scenerio i starling to look the same. i'4ike Faria gets to the Orange County Fairgrounds early on Friday nights and he also gets to the checkered flag earlier and more frequently than his fellow competitors. For the fourtl1 week in a row l1e won the Scratch main and he has clearly established himself as the favorite for'the National Championship althe same track on OCLOber II. . Robert Pfetzing wheelied out of the gate but he still managed to be the . first rider LO the first turn. but it was there lhal Faria (S.hoei/Tsubaki/HiPoint/George Wenn/Cody Products Jawa) asserted himself and pushed his front tire by for the lead. John Sandona also gOt by Pfetzing and he momentarily nosed ahead as they came off turn two. Sandona then made another try as they came 0(( , turn four but he wheelied and almost caught a piece o( Faria. Fortunately he missed and that was all sHe wrote as Faria rode the final three laps LO another impressive victory. Sandona stayed in second the remainder of the distance while Brad Oxley took third. Louis Kossuth (N]KlLou'sService/ Smith Goggles/Arai ]awa) outbattled "Showtime" Bobby Oll and Kevin Krugh LO post his first ever Costa Mesa Handicap main win. Kos-' suth wa third on the stan behind Kevin Krugh and Andy orthrup but he and Ott quickly found themselves 'duking it out with the early pace setters. Kos uth took the lead on lap twO while Ott had LO contend with Krugh who was appearing in his first ever Costa Mesa Division One main. Kossuth opened up some breathing room between himself and the rest of the pack while Oll tried to figure a way past the determined Krugh. Krugh guarded the pipe with his life and it payed off as he ended up garnering the second place paycheck. It was Kossuth with room to spare over Krugh, Oll and "Dangerous" Dubb Ferrell. Kelly Inman (Mom &Dad/Hancock Design/Gene Woods Racing Products Godden) made it look easy as he captured his heat and the Division Two main event from the zero yard line.
