second moto. Murashige's 2-2 finish was good enough for the overall and Fineshriber~s7-1 filled out the second overall spot with Doug Browning (53) third and Bob Buntin (4-4) fourth. The 250cc A class was all Bill Bowman, but Dale Gallamore and Ron Hindahl fought for second in both motos. Hindahl took the second spot in the first molO but Gallamore got by in the final heatlO take second overall. Todd Williamson filled out the lOp four. Dale Lilienthal and Scott Foster battled for 12 laps before an overall winner was decided in the Vintage class. Foster held on for the first molO win but Lilienthal bounced back lO take the second moto viclOry and claimed the overall. Darren Morgan (3-3) carried the third spot with Don Bryant (6-5) finishing fourth. There were no surprises in the Senior class. Loren Cook claimed both motos over Jean Ramsey and Andy Cain. ~ Barton blasts at Sun Valley MX By Steve Hammer HAILEY, 10, SEPT. IS Boise's Corey Barton rode smooth, smart, and fast to win the 250cc Pro class at the Sun Valley MX, round three of the Idaho State Championship Motocross Series. For months, Smith Goggle rep Hook Taylor and Scott Goggle rep Roger Dubree have. worked and planned this event. Local riders Bob Hannah and Danny LaPorte also pitched in, and the groundwork was laid. Also of note was the fact that east· ern and western Idaho finally got together and organized a state champiot:lship motocross series, something that has been discussed for years but never happened. Typical mountain weather greeted ISO riders on race morning as the skies opened up and completely soaked the fast, rolling, one-mile course. Fortunately, the track held up well'all day and mud was not a proBlem. Boise's Greg Yearsley continued his winning ways, by going I-I in both motos of the Micro and Mini B classes. The 125cc races were among the day's best. In both motos of the I 25cc B division Jody Dixon, Dave Ashby, and Brian Krah fought 0[£ the lead with much passing and repassing occurring. Dixon finally came out on top. The 125cc Intermediates did the same thing with Steve Aslett and John Newhouse staging a furious knock-down duel throughout both molOS; Aslett ·pulle~ of[ the overall wm. When the 250cc Pros lined up, everyone knew the action would be fast and furious. In mow one, Boise's Mark Hall pulled a great holeshot on his Yamaha and pulled away. Meanwhile, Suzuki-mounted Corey Barton went down on the first lap and got restarted in about seventh place.
