Spdwy By Todd Kroh GREENE, NY, AUG, 16 On a night where restarts were a regularity, George Lazor won his fourth main -event in as many weeks at Action Park East Speedway. Three weeks prior Lazor took the Handicap win, A week later it was the Division One Scratch main, Then the New York State Championship and now Lazor adds another win under his belt. Although many of the riders were having trouble acclimating themselves to the track conditions the more experienced riders showed their measure, The first to make a statement was Ohio's john Racin, Racin came out steaming and defeated Lazor in his heat race and looked like 'he would be a force to reckon with_ Unfortunately Racin missed the transfer from the semifinal when Len McBride put himself into the main event with Tom Burge, another rider who just returned from a West Coast swing. In the second semi, Bruce Nelson and Lazor put on an amazing show of speed and handlebar-tohandlebar racing during the four revolutions with Lazor eeking out the win, In the main, Lazor put his jawa into the lead coming out of corner two only to have the race red fla~ged for a restart. The restart was a mirror image of the original race as Lazor pushed his machine to the front, exiting the second corner and was there to stay.•McBride, Burge and Nelson fought over the remaining positions and waited for Lazor to make an error. Nothing materialized and McBride won the war for second. Nelson, who wadded his Godden in the Handicap main, finished third on Hank Bassett's mount and Tom Burge was fourth, jim abinger LOok his second Handicap win of the season with a wire-to-wire effort. Expecting a hardcharge from back yardage riders Fey (off the 50), Lazor and Nelson (both off the 60), abinger kept his eyes forward but the chaUenge never came. Lazor sealed his fate in tufn one as he roared down the front straight into the turn 100 hard and laid it down. Ted Fey had the same problem on the second lap in turn three. Nelson chose the spectacular. Exiting turn four, he nipped the rear wheel of john Lewis and then appeared 10 save it before heading oU onto the dirt and watching his Godden £lip end over end into the first turn, Nabinger, Lewis and john Racin finished the race unscratched in the first three positions.
