In the first moto, Roseville Honda! Sierra- upponed Jimmy Robertson pulled another of hi patented holeshots, and flew away for the win. Honda-mounted COll McElroy held on for second, while Wooten worked up to third after a poor start. It looked as if Robertson was going to run away with the second moto as well, bu.t a crash midway through the race dropped him to last; he managed to work his way back up LO fourth by the end of the heat. WOOlen styled to the win, and the overall, while McElroy claimea another second place to finish second overall. Robertson finished third overall, and Kawasakimounted Greg Sheeham went,5-3 for fourth overall. Wayne Johnson powered his Kawasaki to the top spot in the Vet Novice class, placing first in tbe opening mote and second behind Sierra/Honda-mounted Leon Price in mote two; Price finished second overall.
