The Williams family is vacationing in Alaska this summer from New Mexico and have just gotten the sand Kincaid Park track dialed in. Riding tor Scott's Kawasaki, 16year·old Bruce had a hard fought bat· tle with Kawasaki of Anchorage's Kelly Styles. The two riders were both on DMC KXs and were at the from on each start. MOIO one found both Williams and Styles side-by-side for the first lap until Styles took command. Meanwhile, Kelly Butler on an Anchorage Cycle Sales' Yamaha closed the gap umil he was up to Williams. Eve· ryone was taking the supercross whoops twO at a time while Butler decided 10 pass by tripling, but casing it on the third one took the wind out of him. By the halfway mark it was all Styles and Williams. Williams tried 10 pass every way he could think of. but by the molO end had to settle for second behind Styles. The second molO stan was a replay with the two KX riders leading the pack. Finishing [ounh in molO one. Suzuki Motorcycle & Marine's Joe Good found himself in third and giv· ing chase. Butler wasn't far behind in founh. On lap four Butler gassed it passing both Good and Williams. It was shon lived, though. as he reiDjured his wrist when colliding with Styles during a mid-air pass attempt. Butler puJled off. but Styles kept it on two wheels. The collision took the wind out of Styles and Williams used it to his advantage 10 pass for first. Good also passed and challenged [or the lead. but came up shon by the checkered flag. Williams took his first overall ever at Kincaid Park with Good in third and Styles with a second overall. Bruce's l2-year·old brother Scott followed in his older brother's knobby tracks by winning the 80cc Expen class. MOIO one found Aaron Niles on a private Honda leading with Williams somewhere near the back. It was only twO laps later that Williams on a Scott's Kawasaki KX zapped Niles 10 take first. He pulled out a large lead to take the win over Kawa· saki of Anchorage's Tyrone Finch. who passed Niles on the last lap. The second molO was again a Niles holeshot, but he was immediately passed by Williams. Williams fell, gOt back up, passed for first and then fell again. Williams did this the entire molO. but still managed 10 finish second. Niles took the checkered flag but his 3-1 allowed Williams to claim the overall win. Results 50 NOV: ,. Luke Rambur (V.m); 2.
