heat and semi LO qua-Itfy for-the main.
As the gate went up on the main,
Cliff opened up a comfortable lead as
the other riders were bunched a pack.
After struggling in traHic for three
laps, elson and Lazor had made
their way up to the second and third
spot and began LO close the gap. CliH
heard them coming and took a couple quick peeks to see just how much
of his lead was left. The checkered
[lag fell too oon for Lazor and Nelson givingCliH the win. Mike Buman
rode in fourth place with Jim abinger and Ted Fey close behind.
CliH refueled and rolled back out
for the econd Division main.
Pumped up £rom winning the Handicap just seconds earl ier, Cliff wasted
no time in getting to turn one ahead
of joel Monell, Chris Rudy and the
other part of the Colorado duo Bob
Richards. No one seriously challenged
the determined CliH for first, so the
battle ensued for the remaining positions. Monell handed second palce to
Rudy as his bike went sour on lap
two. Richards finished in tbird. Cliff
took his second Division Two main
in as many weeks as the finishing
order was a repeat of the previous
week. Cliff completed.a perfect night
of racing, never losing a race on his
way to the double victory.
Dan Slick started the evening's
'Jawa syndrome' as bewas the Eirstto
take a main event with a jawa machine. Slick won his first ever main
event taking the Division Three win
over Mike DeGroat, Dave jones, Don
Madison and Floyd Clark. Slick also
got a ride in the Handicap program
and fared well making it to the Handicap consi.

Yamaha-mounted Mark Williams
LOok an impres ive win in the now
high Iy competi tive Intermedia te class,
pIa ing 14 marks between himself
and Jeff Nash, who is vastly improving on his East Coast Fantic 30 I.
Surprisingly, Williams said he "just
wasn't into it" after the first lap,
when hi loss of 20 marks had him in
fourth place, behind leader Tom
Donet, Bunky Miller, and jeH Pickle.
William then lost Ie s than half hi
first loop LOtal on his second and
third laps combined to pull away
from everyone.
While Pickle edged Donel on the
"most clean" tie break for third,
Miller lipped LO fifth, one mark
ahead of current Intermediate points
leader, Tony Dejulius, who was having his worst ride since moving inLO
the class last fall. Dejulius, who rides
with a phOLO of his child taped to the
fuel tank of his 240 BeLa, has dominated the Intermediate class thus far.
The riding level of the class has
improved so much this season it now
seems LO be a LOSS-Up as LO who will
win each time out.
.
Newcomer Scott Smith edged his
buddy Chip Lawson on clean LO win
the Novice class as Rookie-of-TheYear points leader Brian Blanchard
LOok third only one mark down.
Former District-7 Hare Scrambles
Champion Andy Hanson took fourth,
while CMTA ecretary-Treasurer
Vince Giamanco grabbed the la t
trophy spot.

but Blankenship crashed and gave
the lead LO David Jackson who held
Gonzalez oU until the mole hill on
the third lap, when Gonzalez flew by
