That forced Faria to drop to the inside at the end of the second circuit. where he stayed the remainder of the way, but Christian also held the pole and was a road block standing in Farill's way. As they crossed the line for the final lime, it was Christian racking up another triumph just in front of Faria, Steve Lucero and Brad Oxley. Oxley (CoorslKNAClIntemational Speedway, Inc.lScou/Hallman Weslake) turned in a masterful performance LO win the Handicap main from the 'to-yard line. Scouy Brown, Keith Larsen and Gary Hicks were the first three at the stan of the race. Lucero made the first move when he LOok Hicks for third in turn two. Oxley then came charging on the outside. On lap two, he shot around both Lucero and Larsen for second. He then went after Brown who had given Oxley all he could handle earlier in the evening when Oxley tried to pass him on the inside. This time Oxley went to the outside and relieved Brown of the lead at the end of lap three. Oxley then rode away for his second Costa Mesa Handicap main of the season. Brown faded LO the back while Larsen, Lucero and Hicks all went down in the final bend. The official order of finish was Oxley. Larsen and Lucero. DavidDiaz(ProRider/GeneWoods _ Racing Products Weslake) was promoted LO Second Division and he scored an easy win in the main event over Moose Kennedy and Steve Furman. Diaz can expect a few more yards in the coming weeks. Tony Franks (FP&:M Weslake) won his first-ever Costa Mesa main in .Third Division action by beating out canadian Nelson Coleman and Jon Boyer. Perry, Cooksmoke 'em afDade City IfIIX By Athie Sanders DADE CITY, FL, JU E 21 Gina Perry, Mike Cook, Ricky Hampshire and Todd Colbert took overall wins in their respective classes at the' 10th Round of Dade City Raceway's 1986 Points Championship Series in Florida. Perry pulled an easy holeshot, then stretched out a commanding lead at the stan of the first Women's class moLO leaving Laurie Hampshire and Laurie Kitsch LO baule [or second. Hampshire kept the door shut on Kitsch and Perry's sizable lead was dwindled down as she was held up by a slower rider in the Super Senior class. After several auempts to pass, Perry darted around John Kitsch then left him behind. Perry claimed the unchallenged win as Hampshire, Laurie Kitsch and Tracy Moore followed. Hampshire nailed the holeshot at the stan of the second moLO, but Perry gave chase and [inally moved into the lead and pulled away. This time it was Hampshire that was held back by John Kitsch. Perry went in for the win followed by Hampshire, Laurie Kitsch and Moore. At the stan of the first Open ovice class moto Jeff Pingel and Mike Spinger exchanged the lead several times before they headed into the back of the track. The two leaders tangled and crashed, giving Tony Descosmo the lead. Pingel remounted and came back into the race at the back of the pack; Spinger lost a lap before he could get back on the gas. Mike Cook, feeling pressure from Scou Sal~ill, moved up close to Descosmo as the three leaders pulled away. Pingle poured it on in an attempt to move up through the pack. but time ran oul. Cook rode side-byside with Descosmo, but was held 0[[. Descosmo went in [or the win with Cook and Salkill close behind. Rudy Savelli finished a distant fourth with Pingel fifth. Cook claimed the lead in moto two as Pingel and Salkill pushed from behind. Descosmo was unable to make the move after his slow start. Cook went in for the win with Pingel, Salkill, Descosmoand Savelli following. Downed riders at the stan of the first 125cc B class moLO took the pressure off Ricky Hampshire as he shot his Kawasaki out front and cruised to the end LO take the easy win. Troy Smith, Mike Redden and Jeff Finkhousen foUowed in that order. In moLO two Finkhousen was out front as they headed into the first turn, but Hampshire charged to come out with the lead.
