PA. iV Y 26 George Roeder II made his first Expert win a big one a he put his Roeder Harley-Davidson/ Southeast H-D/Hi-Point Megacycle Slump lnsurance/Don Whi te-sponsored Harley led every lap of the 28th Annual York County Benefit Classic Half Mile. Le Washbon won the Junior final, while Scott SlUmp easily outdistanced the ProAm field at the York Motorcycle Club's annual race [or the benefit of the Young Handicapped People's Club. The 54 Pro-Am riders were divided into six heats with Mark Wyskiel, Stump, David Rayburn, David Reeves, Eric Buckwalter and Eddie Howe taking wins. At the stan 01 thr' Pro-Am final, SlUmp lived up to hl,c1ippmg;" as he immediately started to pull away [rom SCOll Mohan, Rayburn and Mark Corsetti. On the following lap, Rayburn got by Morhan as he toO started to put some distance on the field. By the fourth lap, Tom Majeski had broken away from Buckwalter, Eric George, Stocc Saunders and Mark Wyskeil in their battle for fourth spot as he started to slowly gain on Mohan. As Stump rode his Smitty's HarleyDavidson/John Bails United Cyclel Shoei IHogwash/Ka I-Gard-sponsored Harley Rotax past Al Wilcox's checkered flag, he had over half a straight lead over Rayburn. while Mohan just edged Majeski by two bikelengths for third. The three Junior heats went to Robert Lewis, Wash bon. and Donnie . ~el . The start of the Junior final looked like a repeat of the Pro-Am final as two rider, quickh jumped to the front of the field. Champion rolling in the late stages, Evans coulcin 't do much with the lead Roeder had built up. Talking with Roeder in the winner's circle, announcer Dave Warren com pi i men ted the second genera lion rider by saying, "You're a much better interview than your father was in his heyday.
