AND Is the only cola drink served here Presents .00 The Oldenberg aces Spring Creek MX By Rolfe Otterness MILLVILLE, MN, JUNE 1 Jeff Oldenberg obliterated the field to take home first prize in the 250cc Expert division at the latest edition of Spring Creek motocross. Of the 241 riders to attack the super.bly maintained and challenging course, he was the .most outstanding, blasting to the front in both motos. Other noteworthy riders included Robbie Engstrom - winner of the Mini 14-15 year old and 125 A classes, Jim Scott in the l25cc Expert class, and Jeff Sorensen in Open Expert. Rich Pearson led the pack of aggressive 250cc Experts through the first turn with Todd Osman and Mike. Graif in close pursuit. By the end of the first lap, Graif had displaced Osman and was knocking at Pearson's rear door. Oldenberg was up to fifth after a poor start and wasted no more than one lap in working his way by the remaining four riders to take the lead. He went on to take a secure win while Graif eventually had to let Pearson go after several laps of intense diCing. Steve Krech took fourth with Tim Berloehr pressuring. Pearson and Graif jumped out front at the start of the next moto with Grai'f taking charge by the second lap to lead a four-way battle for the lead featuring Graif, Pearson, Olden berg, and Bernloehr. Olden berg put hi Rapid Sports Center-supported YZ out front by the next lap, pulling away as Pearson retook second. Bernloehr battled through to take third with Graif holding fourth over Russ Anthony at the £lag. Brian Fern ran out front with his Honda in the first l25cc Expert moto. A tough three-way dice behind him featured Steve Krech, Bryan Shiltz and Jim Scott. Scott broke through to take second on the last lap over Krech and Shiltz. Scott pulled the holeshot in the second moto and quickly established a lead while Fern battled for several laps with Krech. By the time Fern got by, Scott had enough of a lead to put him just out of reach. David Tait zapped Krech on the last lap to nail down third. Results MINI PEE WEE: 1. Mike Atkinjson; 2.
