Carr runs over competition By George Cooper Lam, CA, * MAY 18 Lodi Motorcycle Club's annual Archie Clark Memorial race rook place today in searing 95 degree heat typical of the central valley. The hot, drying breeze made track preparation difficult as water evaporated almost instantly. Fortunately it did not deter over 135 riders from coming, and more importantly, it did nothing LO prevent some very hard fought battles on the race track. Among the top guns entered in the 500cc Expert and Pro-Am classes was Chris Carr. Carr brought with him all the valuable lessons he's been learing on the Camel Pro circuit and put them to good use winning everyone of his races. Carr's closest competition came from Pro Junior point leader Bryan McDowell, and Chad Felicia. McDowell came up second in the Expert class and third in the ProAm main. Felicia took second in the Pro-Am race. Mary Cameron of Oroville took top honors in the SOOcc Junior class ahead of Francis Shine of San Francisco. Shine led most of the race ahead of Cameron, but slipped off the groove on lap six allowing Cameron to ~et by. Holeshot artist Art Michell of Ceres continued his ways in the 500cc Novice class by jumping to the lead as the tapes went up. Mitchell was soon dispatched to second by Todd • LOWEST PRICES ANYWHERE FOR USED CAR, TRUCK & MOTORCYCLE PARTS Proud Sponsors of "Sudden Sam" ERMOLENKO * STANTON.
