Huffman came right back lO soundly thrash the SOcc Bclass, this time on a Yamaha. In the first 10-lap molO it was Huf[man out front of fellow Yamaha rider Chad Berry, Honda rider Chuckie Standeford and Suzukimounted Jeff Portis, which was the finish order in the molO. The second time out saw Berry burn out of the gate, but his lead would only last for a moment as Huffman slOrmed past for a win in molO two and his second overall win with I-I rides. Berry went 2-2 for a second with Standeford going 3-3. Portis had sour luck in the second molO while mounting a charge and suffered an apparent broken leg which closed out the 900 day on a sour nOle. Smith, Wilson star in CMC MX By Mike Vancil FREMONT, CA, MAY 23 Titus Jerome Smith brought out his 125cc RM Suzuki (or his (irst competitive ride in the I25cc Junior class and celebrated his debut with double moto wins. He was advised prior lo the start of the evening program that due to a light 125cc Junior class turnout that he would have to win both combined class molOS lo trophy. Smith just dialed in and rode as if it was an everyday occurrence. The equally smooth performance in the SOcc Mini Intermediate class resulted in Smith going home with two first-place Bay'lands trophies. The progrdffi for all classes was lO-minutes-plus-one-lap and Smith was still looking fresh after his lOtal of 40 minutes plus four laps. In other class action, young Shawn Wilson from Lodi used a pair of YZ Yamahas lo capture a first in the 250cc Intermediate class and a second in the l25cc Intermediate class.
