third lap when Ruper lOok the outside line.
Barney Barnett, riding a Suzuki
RM125, took over second from Ruper,
passing him in the same turn Robison
had a lap earlier. But because of the
combined 250cc A/Open and l25cc
classes, Ruper was technically still in
second, Barnell first in the 125cc A
class. Boggia, who LOok over fourth
shortly after the start of the race.
moved around Ruper with two laps
to go to finish econd behind Robinson.
In the second molO, Boggia grabbed
the lead through the first turn followed by Ruper. Eric Hale and Robison. On the second lap, Robison
passed Hale to take third. With three
laps to go, Robison passed Ruper for
second place, Boggia finishing first
and taking the overall.
In l25cc B action, Steve Gardiner
grabbed the holeshot in the first moto
trailed by Chuck Nicholson. The two
Honda-mounted riders led the race
until Joe Mauer passed Nicholson on
the third lap but stalled his bike,
allowing Nicholson to regain second.
Mauer finished third with Brunswick
Suzuki rider Karl Kure following the
trio past the checkered flag for fourth.
In the second molO, Gardiner
grabbed the lead through the first
turn but Kawasaki-mounted Mauer
took the lead halfway through the first
lap. Nicholson followed the duo for
the entire race with Jim Lower grabbing fourth from Mark Booth on the
final lap of the molO.
Honda-mounted Eric Lee swept
both motos of the 250cc C class. In
first molO action, Lee grabbed the
lead off the gate followed by Wetzel
Husky/O'Neal-sponsored Rick
Boepple. The duo led the pack of 20
riders for the entire four-lap moto,
