By Rosanne Lukaitis ENGLISHTOWN, NJ, MAY II Mickey Kessler cleaned house today, dominating MX action at Raceway Park with back-toback victories in both the 250cc and Open Expert classes. The nationally-ranked motOCTosser, sponsored by Team Green, Bel-Ray and KPS, defeated Carlo Coen LO capture the 250ccclass win, and bested Jim Kapitan for the overall victory in the Open class. In the first 250cc Expert moLO, Kessler started out poorly with a spill. Jumping out inLO the lead was VI P Cycle/Gear-sponsored Jerry Sei p. Dave Antonucci, riding on Seip's back tire, made a pass stick going up the VIP Staircase. Kessler, who had worked his way into third going up the Marushin Mogul, set his sights on the leader. Antonucci, still holding the lead, was aware of his closing rival. Slipping by Seip on the inside, Kessler made his pass stick at the bottom of the plunge. He closed the gap on Antonucci, and got by on the berm wall near the Mogul. Kessler opened his throttle all the way, and held the lead LO the checkers. Antonucci took second and Dave Green finished third. Taking no chances in the final mow, Kessler jumped outLO an early lead and led the race wire-to-wire. Coen fini hed second with Green third. The trio finished in the same order in the overall results. Kessler stayed hot and smooth, taking the lead in the first moLO of the Open Expert class and dominating the race: Kurt McMillen maintained in second, while Green ran third until O'Neal-sponsored Kapitan powered by. Kessler took the lead immediately in the final Open class moLO and closed the door on the rest of the pack. Dave Eckhardt followed in second. with Kapitan third. When Kapitan made his move into second over Eckhardt, Somerset County uzuki-sponsored Chuck Weinberg LOok advantage of the opening and slid into third. Near the end of the mow, Greg Turner leaned on the gas and stuffed Weinberg LO take over third. The second moLO and overall finishes went LO Kessler, Kapitan and Turner, in that order.
