The number one plate holder captured both the 250ccand Open Expert classes. In the 250cc class, Mark Butler (the number one plate holder in the 125cc class) gave Spear a run for the money, while Doug Mitchell, snowing vast improvement over last season, had a pair of seconds in the Open class. Paul Cornell finished with a 2-1 tally in the 125cc Expert division to take the overall win just ahead of Todd Dippers 1-2. Ted D'Onefrio's 5-3 was good for third overall. Steve Agronick, a top Expert rider from the late 1960's, was back for the first time and took tbe overall win ahead of Erick Guenkel in tbe Super Sen ior class. In the Senior Expert class, Mike Boucher showed his is fully recovered from a leg injury that sidelined him for 18 months; he took the overall win with a 2-1, edging Jeff Thompson's 1-2 tally. _ In the Senior Amateur division it was Chris Fahan with a clean I-I for the overall win, followed by Allen Miller in both motos. Today's turnout was a far cry from three years ago wben Senior riders would go through the pits begging one more rider to sign up so they could have a class. The 125cc Novice division proved to bea sibling act as Herb Tompkins topped brother Dennis. Herb bad a I-I with Dennis just behind him in both motos. Craig Smith's 3-3 was good [or third. The Senior Mini class was solid through fourth. Dennis Dillin [inished with a pair of wins, Patrick Hummel had a pair of seconds, Steve Raymond took two thirds and Chris Povall nabbed a pair of fourths. Jody Mitchell dominated the Junior Mini class with wins in both motos. Despite a pair of elimination motos, Chris Fahan was able to outlast his younger opponents and turn a 3-1 into first overall in the 250cc Amateur class. Bob Weiss (1-3) took second. In the Open Amateur division, George Vallely had a perfect 1·1, while Tim Beachak topped a full I25cc Amateur class with a 2-1 day. Scott Behrens was second overall with a 4·3. KAL-GARD ..
