Glenn Somerville claimed th e holeshot at the start of the first 125cc A mota as Donnie Delgado followed. Delgado charged for a few laps then he £lew over the doubles to pilot around Somerville as they headeddown th e front straight. Delgado puIled a strong lead and went in for the win. . Delgado blocked off Somerville and took the holeshot in mota two. He pulled ahead 10 set a fast pace as the two diced and started to lap the B class riders. Delgado fell , but jumped back on his bike in a £lash. Somerville, in the last hairpin turn before the white flag, also fell. Delgado went on 10 take an impressive win with Somerville taking second. Delgado sa id . "There were a coup le of bad bumps before the jump, so I changed my line the next lap and didn 't go into it fast enough. I hesitated, and went down." Delgado was back on the starting line with his 250. He grabbed the holeshot as the A class got on the gas. Gary Rosse gave a good chase, but could not reel Delgado in. Delgado soared and took the easy win. Mota two saw Delgado out Iront to stay. Ro sse rode well , but did not close the gap. De lgado once again took the win and went home with first overall. Jeff Pingel was out front at the start of rnoto one in the Open Novice class with Mike Spinger, Mike Cook and Dan Crawford Ioll owing. Cook puIled his four-stroke around Spinger, and Greg Bagent came out of the pack to pull around Crawford. Pin gel kept just far enough out front 10 hold the lead as his own while Cook pressured. but never got under him. For a time . Crawford went after Spinger, but backed off, P ingel went in for the win with Cook. Spinger, Crawford and Bangent rounding out the top positions. Cook said, "I ride a four-stroke and do quite weIl in this class. I know how to use it to an advantage. My biggest advantage is that I can go into a turn a lot deeper beca use wh en you let off the gas it slows right down. I put it in third and fan the clutch a little and it wi ll put it out." P in g le claimed the holeshot in moto two and was followed by Crawford. Spinger, Cook and R ud y Savell i, Pingel held on for the win even though Crawford kept close o n his tail.
