In th e main he mad e it a o ne-sided affair by jumping int o th e lead over Mark Dwyer and Andy Northrup. Correy star ted to length en his lead while Faria a nd Keith Chrisco charged a t Northrup for third. Northrup held th em a t ba y until lap three wh en Chrisco forged ahea d. T ha t was as far as a ny body was go ing to get as Correy had it in th e bag and he cruised under the chec kered some eigh t lengths a hea d of Dwyer a nd Chrisco. The name T eam Blaze is ge tti ng popular on th e sou thern Ca liforn ia speedway circuit. T eam Blaze is com prised of brothers Steve and Craig Furman a nd Friday night Steve was the class of th e Th ird Division field as he won both h is heat a nd th e main from th e zero yard line. Gi na Perr y, Laurie Ha mpshi re. Laurie Kitsch a nd Tracy Moore followed as Rewis roosted ah ead. Perry stuck clo se and th e two leaders stretched awav from the others. Perr y then doubled thecamelbacks as she set off after Rewis. Rewis opened the th ro ttle a nd skillfu lly p ull ed away just as Perr y lost it and h it the dirt. She was u p and a way a nd bac k on th e gas givi ng it all she had, but Rewis was lo ng go ne an d went in for the win all alone. H ampshire had slipped by to take second leaving Perry to settle for third followed by Kitsch then Moore. After the race Perry said , " My hand ju st slip ped off the clutch and I lost it." Rewis charged into the fir st turn to claim the holeshot in rnoto two wi th Hampshire and Perry right behind her .
