endurance racing. When the company returns to Daytona in 1987.
Taglioni's goal is to see lap times
drop from Luchinelli's 1986 best
of 2:01 down to 1 :57. Taglioni
says that reaching that goal will be
no problem with an engine built to
last for 15 lapsinstead of 24 hours.
Taglioni made his remarks at" a
Cagiva press conference in Torrance, California, on March 25.

event at Laguna Seca Raceway in
Monterey, California in July. According to Cagiva North America GenemF Manager Daniella Carnelli, negotiations are now in progress for Luchinelli's appearance; one h.urdle is a
conflicting race date in Spain.
Italian road racer Massimo Matteoni
will ride for Bimota racing team in
the Italian Formula One Championshi p and in the Italian round of the
TT Formula One World Championship. Matteoni, the 1985 European
250cc Champion, will help Bimota_
in research and development.
