Mulligan soars at Las Vegas MX ~------------------------------------------------~.' TEXAS STADIUM LAS VEGAS, V, MAR. 2 Wtn. Lamb grabbed the holeshot in the second half, followed closely by Griffith and Las Vegas Suzuki-sponsored jeff Kerhonen. At the first corner, Kerhonen pushed his Suzuki in front of Griffith. The lead positions remained unchanged until the final lap, when Griffith slid out and dropped to fourth. The final results showed Danny Lamb in first, jeff Kerhonen second, Griffith third, and AI's Cycle-sponsored Camden in the fourth slot. ~ DALLAS TEXAS High-flyin' Kerry Mulligan soared around the Las Vegas Motocross Park course to the I25cc Intermediate class victory. Mulligan, sponsored by Honda of Las Vegas, didn't make a mistake aU day long as he demolished the opposition in what is normally a tough, evenly conte ted class. Mulligan blasted to the head of the class to start the first race, just ahead of T.L. Taylor (another Honda of Las Vegas rider) and Dixie Kawasaki's Ken Arnold. Mulligan and Taylor proceeded to put some distance on the rest of the field as they raced furiously around the track. Mulligan outdistanced the streaking Taylor to win the rac.e with ease. Taylor and Arnold finished second and third. Moto two was an instant replay of the first race, with Mulligan jumping out to the lead and Taylor chasing, him desperately. Everyone else was left behind, as these two began carving up the course again. They were the only racers who were jumping the formidable "King-Kong" double jumps. The end results were also the same, with Mulligan winning by an even larger margin than before. Taylor again claimed a strong second. The overall tally had Mulligan the easy winner, Taylor in solid second, with Ken Arnold, Lonnie Faulkner and johnny Day rounding out the top five. Danny Lamb overcame a safety restart in the first moto that cost him a holeshot to win the race and the overall crown in the 80cc Novice division. Lamb had blasted to the holeshot in moto one when a crash on the start straight forced a red-nag and a restart. Eric Gri££ith took advantage to grab the lead on the second try, but Dixie Kawasaki's Lamb was right behind him. johnny Camden was on the gas in third. Griffith and Lamb dueled for two laps until Lamb finally forced his way past. From then on, Lamb kept edging away to clinch an easy B Home of the Dallas Cowboys By Dick Goodwin ~ SANCTIONED APRIL 27,1986 Castrol SC:OTTU~ OFFICIAL 1986 NATIONAL AMATEUR DALLAS SUPERCROSS ENTRY FORM B- A - Expert Intermediate C-Novice CLASSES: I Pre-Entry Fee; $35 PerClasa • Post Entry Additional $1 0 Per Cia. . .
