among the C riders. Some C classes had no finishers at all. Martin Groo led the dozen or so C riders who did go all the way with a 123, good enough for C overall. Frank Masterson lOok the Open C division, while Joe Carter aced the 250cc C class. In the B class, Ken Regevig, a Veteran class rider, showed the younger riders how lO get around in the lOugh slUH as he rode to the best score in the B class with 96. Close on his heels with first place in the 250cc B class was Colin Thompson with a 98. Sue Childress and Julie DuHek represented the Women's class with strong ride to make itlO the fourth check. Melton slOrmed lo the front in the first molO of the 250cc A, chased by Doug-Smith, Connie Feist, and Chris Smith. Melton was uncontested for the win. Doug Smith and Feist fought for second as Mark Smith, a top contender in the class,was out of competition with a mal£unctionin~ bike. "The throttle stuck and I couldn't even ride it becduse it was revving up so bad," Smith said after pulling {rom the track. Meanwhile, Feist pulled up beside Doug Smith as Chris Smith closed in for a three-way battle for second. Feist crashed to drop to fourth with Doug Smith taking second until he stalled his bike, puttingChris mith second for themolO. Chris Smith charged to the lead in molO two with i\i1elton in eighth on the start. MellOn quickly moved into third in the first lap. Smith and Feist tangled for first as Melton made a move on Feist lO move into second place. MellOn then moved beside Sm ith 10 take fi rst for the molO.
