Hewitt/Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna Part Ways
B
obby Hewitt, the motocross and Super-
cross race manager for the Rockstar
Energy Husqvarna Team, is no longer with
the organization, according to a release
from the team. The release reveals little
details as to why this happened: After more
than five years of working together, it was
announced today [July 9] that Husqvarna
Motorsports, Inc. and HRH Racing, Inc.
[Hewitt] have mutually agreed to conclude
their business relationship for the remain-
der of the 2020 race season and beyond.
As a result of this new agreement,
HRH Racing, Inc. owner, Bobby Hewitt,
will no longer serve as Team Manager of
the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory
Racing Team. Husqvarna Motorsports,
Inc. would like to thank Bobby Hewitt for
his commitment to the race team over the
past five years and wish him the best in
his future endeavors.
The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Team
evolved from Hewitt's previous ventures as a
team owner. Hewitt created an amateur team
many years ago to help support his son,
Hunter, using Kawasaki motorcycles. The
team later became known as the Rockstar
Energy Suzuki Team but did not receive
factory support. In 2013, the team got global
attention when member Davi Millsaps led
much of the AMA Supercross Championship
on what was at the time a privateer effort.
The team switched to KTMs the following
year and won the 250SX West Championship with Jason Anderson.
When KTM purchased Husqvarna in 2015, KTM chose to run Husqvar-
na's factory racing effort through Hewitt's organization and eventually
took control of the team and kept Hewitt on as team manager. The Rock-
star Energy Husqvarna Team won the 2018 Supercross Championship
with Anderson and swept the podium at the final round this year. CN
Bobby Hewitt, one-time
owner of the Rockstar
Energy Husqvarna Team,
is no longer with the
organization.
