In th eir seco nd mota confrontation, it appeared th at Richards would have an easier time of it as he came out of th e- first corner solidl y in the lead with Bastard ba ck in fourth place. Bostard got things sorted OUI and began to pick off ride rs, the first being Glenn H arrison (Yam). A lap later Bostard gassed hi s KX past Joh n Dauth (H o n ) a n d then began to reel in R icha rds. With IWO laps 10 go Bos tard started hi s passi ng attempts. The fir st one failed as he had a bad line through a so ft- berrned right-hander , bUI it wa s afte r th is co rner o n th e next lap th at he gOI a good run o u t of th e turn and passed Ri chards in mid-air. R ichards went down as h e lit a nd was una ble 10 fin ish ; Bostard ro de on to th e wi n . R ichards d id co me back 10 win in th e O pen Pro class but it was n o easy victory.
