Ermolenko had to win his final race - it looked as if his chance of forcing a run-off had gone when he was ou tgated by Swede Jan Andersson, but Ermolenko swept past on the outsid e as th ey went into the third lap and th en survived a tricky moment on the last turn before clinching his pl.ace in th e three-man decider with a WIn. Although h e had to take third berth on th e presentation rostrum, Ermol enko wa s delighted. "It has been pretty hard for me, because I haven 't been riding in England this yea r," sa id Ermolenko. "I had some trouble wi th my motors in th e World Team Cup final at Long Bea ch and I was a bit worried a bo u t m y cha nces, but my oid buddy Bobby Schwartz ca me to my aid.
