Crevier looked like he was goi ng to ma ke it three in a row in Formula Two as he diced with Mike Kenyon for first. At o ne point, Ken yon didn't seem to know that Crevier was right beside him co mi ng o ut of th e hairp in . Ken yon did a wh eeli e for the crowd and Crevier had to reach out a nd push him over to prevent a collisio n. Ken yon raced somewha t harder afte r th is. The Gremlin s bit Crevier 's bike a nd fo rced him out in th e fin al. Ken Botharn was able to stay a head of Steve H au g in th e battle for second. Haug was riding Dale Fra nklin 's TZ250 wh ile Fra nk li n was ra cing H aug 's TZ700 in th e F-l class. The 750cc Production saw ano ther outi ng for Crevier. This was hi s onl y four-str oke ride a nd he admi tted that he does not have the differen ces dialed in. " It's a lo t d ifferent, " he said. Still third 's not bad a nd I'm keeping th e top two in sight." It was Gary Goodfellow and Daryl Cornwell o ut front in th e 750cc Produ ction class. Corn well couldn 't q ui te ge t by, but Good fellow couldn' t get away either. Goodfellow comment ed after th e race, " H e's mak in g me ride as hard as I ca n, I' ve go t nothing in reserve." Goodfello w actually finis hed the Superbike race beh ind Tom Walther, a firs t for bo th of them. Walther a nd Goodfellow shared machi nery in thi s race which ma y have been the edge that Walt her needed to go fast. Bruce Cherwo nka pu lled in th ird . Dave Wildma n and H arry Rih ela played a strategic game in the Sidecar class. " T here is on ly two pl aces that j o hn and Rick can ge t pas t us, a nd we managed to sto p th em in th e first heat. Goodfellow took th e first hea t, but m idw a y thro ugh th e fina l, di saster struck. One of hi s overflow ho ses work ed its wa y loo se a nd jammed one of his carbs open as he was comi ng th rough the esses. Una ble to make the corne r, he was headed directly for the tire wall. G oodfell ow , h ow ever , ac tua lly managed to wrestl e th e beast to a sta ndstill wi thou t cras hi ng, but had to retire from th e race since he had no throttle co nt ro l. British Co lumbia; Goodfellow beat Daryl Cornwell and Steve Crevier. Moto two saw Norton out front close ly follo wed by three Hon das. Norton pulled o ut a four second lead over Reed a nd Cra wford but Reed was n't havin g a ny of it a nd shi fted to over drive in the second to last lap and closed up beh ind Norton. Reed tri ed goi ng aro und the o utside but co uldn't ma ke it stick . He then tr ied the inside but ca me up short. Finall y he p u lled along side Norton's Suzu ki in th e whoops just before th e fini sh lin e a nd passed him in the air to take first with Crawford in third a nd T im Barker rounding ou t fourth .
