Three-time World Champion Kenny Roberts officially announced the he will enter the first-endurance race of his career on July 28 when he teams with Tadahiko Taira for the Suzuka Eight-Hour. Roberts made the announcement prior to the June 9 sixth round of the Japanese National Road Race Championship at Suzuka. The Roberts/Taira team will be called " Yam aha Tech 21" and will be sponsored by Shiseido. a Japanese men's cologne manufacturer and Plus. a maker of office furniture and accessories. Roberts said that he will also bring his usual sponsors such as PJ-1 Oils and AGV Helmets. The team will use a Yamaha FZR750 that Roberts terms. "A G .P. bike with a four-stroke motor. It'sjust like a G.P. bike. but a little heavier."
