! mP41~Wf4lLfY 0') ..- Frenchman Christian Sarron (Yam) won the May 19 German GP:s 500cc road race which was run in the rain at Hockenheim. Freddie Spencer (Hon ) finished second, w ith England's Ron Haslam (Hon ) third, and defending World Champion Eddie Lawson (Yam) fourth. Connecticut's M ike Baldwin (Hon) crashed on the opening lap. Sarron's win, the first in three 500cc GP outings by the defending 250cc World Champion, broke a st ring of 28 consecutive 500cc GP wins by Americans, dating back to August, 1982. The point standings after three rounds of the 12race series show Spencer leading w ith 39 points, Lawson second with 35, and Sarron third with 30. The 250cc G P at H ockenheim , a lso run in the rain . was won by West G ermanv' s Martin Wimmer (Ya m). Freddie ' Spencer (Ho n) fin is hed second, with Anton M an g (Hon) ta king th ird, Wim mer heads th e po int standi ngs w ith 33. fo llowed closely by Mang wi th 32, and Spencer with 29. Defending World Champion Heinz Kin igadner ( KT M ) and Jacky Vi,mon d (Yam) scored an equal amount of points in the May 19 Czechoslovakian 250cc Motocross Grand Prix. Vimond won the opening moto with Kinigadner second . Kinigadner led Vimond home in the second moto. Vimond still leads the series point standings after six rounds with 148 points. Kinigadner is second with 131 points, and Gert-Jan van Doorn is in third w ith 123. Wills, with a 7.503second, 196.93-mph run, defeated Trettand his 7.58/199.11. George Bryce (Suz ) won Funny Bike w ith a 7.608 sec.!176.12 mph f inal run over Wayne Timmons (Kaw).
