Then Sargent and Simons passed Worth for third and fourth . resp ectivel y. At th e £lag it wa s Larson. Mann ing in secon d about three seconds back . and Sargent th ird. The second rnoto saw La rson d icing it o u t for th e lead with Manning in the 'open ing laps; Larson was loo kin g for any way possible to get aro u nd. It didn 't take long; soon after th e start of th e third lap Larson £lew by Manning/on a straight an d p roceeded to open an insurmountable lead. All Manning could do was hold in second and wait for th e checkered £lag to come out. Theonlycloseracing was between Scott Sargent. Brett Cahors (Hon ) and Eri c McKenna (Hon). All three riders put on an exciting show in a race for third. with Cahors eventually tak ing third; fourth had th e lead a n d Lew is was pu tting the heat on Pa scarell a. wh o was leaning on Brown. With th e co mpetition neutralized, Lewis went on to win the moto, follow ed by Bro wn . Third was Rick Simmet (Han ). The start of rnoto two had Pa scarella leading. with Brown second.
