Second was G aylon Mosier ' (Ma i) and Rex Staten (Mai), Win ning the. 5OOcc Pro class was Jimmy Wein ert (Ya m) over Jim West (Ma i) and G ary Semics (Kaw). Frank Gillespie (H -D ) cras hed in th e seco nd qualifyin g hea t, requi rin g a rest art; the seco nd semi a lso h ad to be rest arted a fter Chuck Jordan (Yam ) and Tom White (H -D) tangled. Wh ite went on 10 finish second in th e trophy dash behind Pau l Bostrom (T r i), Round two of th e Camel Pro Ser ies was held under th e ' Dome th e next night. This time it was a short tra ck National won by Darry l Hurst (Yam). Second was Dave Hansen (H o n) with Randy Cleek (Yam) th ird. King Kenny didn 't make th e m ain, after losing th e first semi 10 rookie Expert G uy McClu re (Bul ), The race took a bizarre twist when McClure, whil e wheelieing across th e finish line 10 celebra te his moment of glory over Roberts, crashed his brains out in the first turn and broke his arm when hi s bike landed on top of him. Roberts did not advance 10 first; after failing 10 make it to a National main for the first time in two years, Kenny went on 10 win th e trophy dash instead.
