Mabery m oved up and p u t pressure on Bosta rd for the lead, but was unable to slip by. Mabery kept the pressure on for two full laps, and finall y slip ped through on the o utside to take th e lead. At the en d it was Mabery, Bostard and Kendall finishing third . Bo stard 's second place Iinish netted h im th e o vera ll win . The fir st moto o f the Vet Masters divi sion wa s ca p ped with a runaway win by G ary J on es (H us), followed b y Jon Miller (Ya m) and Steve Ferroni (Ya m ) Sunday. For th e seco n d rnoto , Phil G ribnau l (Ya m) to ok the holeshot followed by Ferroni and Bob Dunn (H o n), Ferroni started to pressure Gribn au to get by for the lead. J ones, recov ering from a bad start , was n ow in fourth pl a ce and made a spectac u lar m ove on the inside to pass both Dunn a n d Gri bnau. With th at , J on es went to work on Ferroni for the lead. Dunn was running hard for third. but lost ground and was o verta ken by Jon Mi ller. Miller kept o n ch a rg in g. a n d was able to slide by Ferroni for th e second place SP01. J ones wa s co m ple tely ou t o f rea ch, a n d went o n to take first and the overa ll win. Miller took a co m for table secon d a n d secon d ov erall . with Ferroni third a n d third overall. In th e sideh a cks , Phil Palfreyman and Perry Mellilo h oleshot moto one, with John a n d Victor P a lf reym a n in second a head o f Pet e and Scott Whitney. Th e Palfreyman/Mellilo team led a battl e for secon d. When P a lfre ym an a n d Mell il o got stuck in a rut , Whitney a n d Wh itney took the lead a n d th e wi n .
