Winn went wild for a total rout of Lhe Mini Expert and J25cc Intermediate classes, sweeping all four of his motos. Watilo (Answer Products/RW Racing/Kaw) severely trounced a field of I25cc Pros and went I-I fonopmoney. Winn's first task of the day was desplacing teammate Jeff Daily in the Mini Expert motos, coming back in the I25cc class to battle with Kawasaki riders Jody Jamieson, Kurt Ragstadt, Troy McMullin and Clint Washburn, which was the top-five order at the end of moto one. Moto two had Jamieson jump into the lead which only lasted half a lap before Winn went by and pulled away to the checkers for his I: I demolition to beat Jamieson's 2-2 and Ragstadt's 3-3. The Pro classes went to Watilo in the 125s and fellow Salem resident David Fox (Suz) in the 250s. Fox battled wiLh Johnny 0' clone Scott Russell (Hon) and John Woodley (Hon) both motos for 250cc cash but it was Watilo leaving Kenny Olson (Suz), Gary Beyer (Kaw) and Dave Livingston (Yam) to scrap it out for the remaining pay slots both 125 motos.
