Handa wins three: RanLechien:s Denver National; RU;ky
Graham at the Peari1:L TT; and Pred Merkel's PartlandSuperbike.
Here's a nifty number that's
Graham and Bubba Shobert
been sweeping the country:
One.
That's how Honda finished
in three different races this
week.
Our first entry was Ron
Lechien and his wailing RC250.
Backed up by liquid-cooling
and Pro-Link suspension, Ron
led the group all the way at the
Denver National
We played pretty well in
Peoria, too. Where Ricky

cranked their XL600R-based
dirt- trackers around and
around until they topped the
charts. It was the first time a
single-cylinder machine ever
won there. Their big finish left
the competition singing the
blues.
Our third set featured the
supremes: Fred Merkel, Roberto
Pietri and Sam McDonald
aboard state-of-the-art Honda
Interceptors. All with liquidcooled V-4 engines. All with
Pro-Link rear suspension. And
all performing in perfect harmony to sweep the Pro-Am
Superbike event in Portland.
In this business, talent can
take you a long way. But a lot
depends on what you know.
Honda riders know that it takes
Honda technology to keep
them up there at number one.
And that's the name of that
tune.
