Chain SWEEPS SUZU I-HOUR World Endurance Championships Brooks didn't fare too well in the 126cc Stock and Modified races. Jimmy Button won both the Stock and Modified Jr. Cycle races. Mike Bias, Barr, Kawasaki pilot Rusty Pipes and Greg Stahlman, on a Kawa· saki. Brooks closely followed Stahlman and he knew he had to finish ahead of Barr to capture the overall, so Brooks got on the gas. But shortly after, Barr crashed and the pressure was off Brooks. Barr dropped back to 10th, while Brooks inched his way into second but was seriously hounded by Kawasaki rider Mike Boston. At the halfway point, Boston stuffed Brooks in a tight left turn and took control of second. Two turns later, however, Brooks kindly returned the favor. Still, Boston stayed glued to Brooks' rear fender through the next lap and tried to pass the Honda rider where he had successfully passed Brooks earlier, but this time failed - Bo ton crashed and dropped to fifth. Daft enjoyed a comfortable lead and was never pressured by Brooks. Brooks took the overall ahead of Fisher, Barr, Wendell Simmons, on a Yamaha, and Todd Harrenl. Daft finished sixth. Honda's Jimmy Button stole the show in both the Stock and Modified . 9-11 Junior Cycle class. In the Stock race, Button stole the holeshot while Kawasaki rider Hank Moree dogged Button throughout the moto. The climax of the moto was only a few turns from the checkered flag. Entering a set of quick right/left turns, Moree followed Button by inches. Moree tried a last-ditch attempt to pass Button but ran into the Honda pilot's rear wheel, causing Moree to crash. He recovered just in time to keep Kawasaki rider Jack Ricks from slipping by. Button took the win followed by Moree and Ricks. The Modified race saw Button again jam into an early lead; he was passed a few laps later by Kawasaki-mounted Brian Swink.
