In Scratch main action tonight, David Faria J r. took the leaa from the number two position, with polesiuer Mike Delacy was inches behind on the outside, and Bart Bast inches behind on the inside. At each turn it was a three-way si.de-by-side situation. At the white flag, Bast got the lead, but only by inches. In turn three Delacy took a very temporary lead, but went wide on turn four, allowing Bast to recover and take the checkered flag for his fourth Scratch main at Auburn this season. The win made Bast the"Auburn Scratch King," and it moved him from fourth to third place in the NorCal point standings, as they closed tonight.
