Both houses will have to approve the compromise, and once they do, the bill will be sent to President Ronald Reagan for his signature. The compromise is expected to take place quickly, because as AMA Director of Government Relations Rob Rasor seid, "It's been around for several years now. Everybody wants to simply be done with it." And, according to Rasor and others, the president is expected to sign the bill. This is an election year and Reagan wan~ to look good on environmental issues. Still, we can't let miles of prime forest trails in Sequoia and possibly a classic desert race go without a fight. On this page (below) we've printed a couple of semple letters, on what to say to Reagan, as well as Congressmen, who'll have to face this issue again in approving the compromise. (Your name here) Husqvarna's Terry Cunningham journeyed into the hills at the Pennsylvania National and found his gold in the form of an overall win, besting teammates Kevin Hines and Mike Melton in the rain-soaked contest. Cunningham lost 14 points in the IOO-mile run, while Hines clocked through with an 18-point ride and Melton with 21. Cunningham's win vaulted him imo lhe series point lead with 182 points, while Hines holds second at 176 and Melton third with 174.
