Orr BOYD, TX, JULY 14 Bobby Shaw again showed everyone how it was done as he took his ninth straight win in the 250cc Juniorr TT races at , ~ /I -.. Hillside Raceway in Boyd, Texas. Shaw, sponsored by Northeast Suzuki, where he also tunes and maintains his own bikes, is not only the leader in the 250cc Junior class, but also in the 125cc and Open Junior TT dasses. He chalked-up wins in both of these classes. Shaw took the win in the first 250cc JuniorTT heat ahead of Marty Strickland and Jamie Harris. The second heat went to Rodney Young, who - wa,s followed by Mike George and Ed Meyer. George got the holeshot in the main, with Young leading Shaw and Harris out of the first corner. Shaw shot off the jump to land in the lead and once more left the field behind. George and Young dueled for second, - with George coming out on top, while Young led fourth place Harris. Swiller finished in fifth place. After racing only two years, Shaw attended his first Amateur National a week ago, where he won all three TT classes he entered, then placed fifth in his first race on a quarter mile. Another rider running hot at Hillside is Mike Hale, with his seventh consecutive win in the 125cc short track class. Hale, on a Texas Hon-. da/Yamaha and Jemco Pipes-sponsored Yamaha, won his heat ahead of Trace Polson and Chad McCracken. McCracken led Hale and Polson out of the number two corner on lap one, but Hale took the lead on the inside going down the back straight. On lap three, McCracken slid off the groove in the number four corner and Poison stayed on the pole to take over second place, while McCracken ended up in third. ~ SHORT TRACK TROPHY DASH: 1.
