Spencer NEWMAN, CA, MAY 26 Memorial Weekend's short track at Hills Ferry Raceway saw a smiling Aaron Hill a double winner in the Pro classes. Hill lined up on the pole of the 500cc Expert main with Donny Howard and Mark Key, both Nationallyranked riders, alongside, but that didn't affect the soon-to-be Junior Pro as he got a good start and kept Howard at bay. "I almost blew it," remarked Howard after the race when he tried an inside pass early on. "I got too close and nearly took us both out." Howard recouped and kept up the pressure on his Fran's Upholstery special but when the checkered came out, it was Hill the winner in a tight race. Todd Beecher got the shot in the first start of the 250cc Expert race but the race was SLOpped. On the subsequent green, Hill and Jon Nunez used the squeeze play on Beecher. Brian McDowell moved by Beecher, showing good form in his first 250cc Expert ride, then promptly threw it away in the next turn. Hill held the point all the way, with Nunez attached closely, and Beecher recovering for third. Steve Mayfield put some slick moves to/{ether for the 250cc Junior win, but
