his CR500 Honda into second in the
final while Rodney Ginn moved into
third. Wi k and Yamamoto provided
the gallery of pectators tense, wheel
to wheel combat, just a the duo has

The Open Expert main event wasa
cla sic showdown, with Yamamoto
and Wick putting two Hondas into
the lead. Ginn and AMAJuniorTim
Stults entered the picture, making a
four-way draft down the straight and
into the TT's dog-leg section. Yamamoto held off Wick's charges and
rode all available lines, while Wick
looked for an opening on the threeeighths-mile track. The track i quite
wide, but Yamamoto's line didn't
offer Wick mu h hoice but to hope
for a mi take by the Honda pilot.
Yamamoto held off Wick's late in the
race rally to earn the win and take
home two class victories to Washington, with Wick gelling two seconds
ahead of Ginn and uzuki 500mounted Stults.

Honda pilot Randy Green made
a sensational last-lap pass on
Wood-Rotax rider Mickey Fay
and leader Frank Word III to

win the Expert main event at Castle
Rock's AMA Pro TT opener. Chris
Fitzhugh and his Seattle Hondasponsored 500 continued a rampage
of both states, taking the Junior main
event over Californian Dan McDonnell. Hard-riding Marty Zirbel took
the Novice main event win, beating
Jack "Bugsy" Booth.
Fay then trounced the first of three
Expert heats which took the top two
from each, to the main. ational
number 55 John Wincewicz took second while Brad Hurst took third. He
went on to make the main via the
semi. The second heat transfered
Word,. who won effortlessly over Jeff
Campbell on the Harry Lillie/HiPoint Can-Am 500. Green grabbed
the lead of the third and final heat to
win over Charlie Barkman and Jeff
McDaniel, who would also make the
main through a semi.
Zirbel (Chaney's Auto) and Trophy
Dash winner Bob Klum (Hon) led the
Novice main event with Booth, Matt
Holm (Hon) and Pat McBride (Hon)
in tow. Zirbel moved away from Klum
and Booth. Booth got by Klum to
