A.A Cham~ionsh;~Cu~ Series: Round 2 Three for Cooper By Randy Marrs DAYTONA BEACH, MAR. 7 Stuart Cooper rode a Yamaha 650 Vision to three wins in the opening road race even t of the '84 edition of Cycle Week at Daytona 18 International Speedway, the second round Mitch Marqui (661) topped the Novice rank. in Unlimited Superbike and Formula One. Gary Holtzman (161) followed in both race•. of the AMA's new amateur road race series. In the CCS National event, Cooper was first to the checkered flag in the Middleweight Superbike, 750cc and Open Supertwins Expert divisions, as well as second to the line in the Heavyweight Superbike class behind Gary Horton. A total of 530 entries were £iJed for the Wednesday meet. Starting on the fourth row of the grid, Cooper wasted no time in the Middleweight Superbike Expert battle as he went to the front on lap two of the 12-lap race. Yamaha-mounted Bill Kelly and Suzuki-moumed Don Dillon made ita three-way battle, but by lap five Cooper had a five-second lead. Lap eight saw Cooper running out £ront, followed by Dillon, Kelly and James Pennington, who had joined the fight for second with his Kawasaki. At the finish it was Cooper scoring his first win of the day and Pennington wedging his way into second over Dillon and Kelly. Cooper continued his winning ways with a start-to·finish romp in the Supertwins race. Cooper's toughest competition
