came from Honda-mounted Gary
Horton in the Heavyweight Superbike race. Horton took the lead £rom
Tommy Blackwell on the second lap
and proceeded 10 pull away £rom
the field.
Blackwell dropped back £rom the
front runners and at the checkered
flag it was Horton, Cooper, Bill Kelly
and Mark Thorson grabbing the top
four spots.
Novice class riders Mitch Marqui
and Gary Hol12man went at it in the
Unlimited Superbike event. Hol12rnan
took the lead on the start with Marqui hOlOn his trail. Kawasaki-mounted Marqui and Honda-mounted
Holtzman raced neck-to-neck, swapping the lead back and forth.
On the next 10 last lap, Marqui
went around Holtzman for good.
Bennard Lajoie followed the pair
across the line 10 take third.
Marqui capped off his successful
day with another win, that one in the
Novice Formula I race where he
again lOpped Holtzman after a racelong duel.
The Formula I Expert race win
went 10 veteran John Long over Joey
Sommers and Russ Albrecht.
The Formula 2 race turned into a
seesaw bailIe between earl Mu££ley
and Joey Sommers, both Yamaha
TZ250-mounted. They held oU challenges from Santiago Londono and
Stuart Coo)Jer and the finish order
read: Mu(()ey, Sommers, Londono
and Cooper.
