Team GJ'een mini-bikers Scott Chesser and jack Ricks grabbed the most gold, taking two classes each. Chesser captured the 80cc Stock and 80cc Senior classes. Ricks racked up the 60cc and 80cc junior honors. Ricks, from Stuttgart, Arkansas, wired both 60cc motos with Willy . Bowden (3-3) for second and jody North (5-2) third. Ricks found the going tougher in the 80cc junior class and had to pull it out in the second moto. jimmy Gaddis holeshot the first go- 'round and went wire-to-wire. Ricks ran second, Charlie "Tuna" Winn was third. In the second showdown, Ricks rev,ersed the scenario with his holeshot and wire-to-wire victory. Gaddis gobbled up second place while Winn was again third. . Chessar ran out front on all laps of the 80cc Stock wars. Chasing Chesser to the tape was Team Green member and local favorite jason Langford. Finishing in third with a 4-5 score was Jason Schultz. Repeating his success in the Stock class, Chesser took charge on every lap of the 80cc Senior motos. Schultz was in second on lap one, with jason Upshaw third. Langford was off to apoor start and sat in eighth. During the next five laps Schultz slipped to fifth, Langford labored into third, Upshaw was se<;ond and of course, Chesser took the checkered, first. In moto two Chesser surged to the front to stay. Langford was second throughout. Schultz again slipped to .fifth after holding third place. This time it was Upshaw in the show spot. Jason jessup 4-4 was in fourth. jessup led on all but one lap of both 125cc Novice group A outings. Burkham had the first moto holeshot and ran second every lap of the way, with Dennis Phelps filling third. Jeff Harris was home fourth, Robert Tieman fifth and Brian Yelton sixth. In moto two, jessup took the lead from Jeff McGarr who had taken the holeshot and early leap. Yelton was in third with Phelps fourth, Phil Easley fifth and Tieman in sixth. At the £lag, following jessup were: Yelton, Phelps, McGarr, Easley and Tieman. That made Phelps second overall and Yel ton third. jessup came out smokin' in 250cc Novice action taking both holeshots on his Italian'made Cagiva. However, after leading both moto's at the midway mark, jessup faltered, finishing far behind after crashing and mechanical woes. Steve Hill gol good gates'and led the I25cc Novice group B class all the way. Hill had fellow Good Times Cycle teammate, Tony "Too Good" Lasater, along with jason Langston playing catch-up. Jessup jams at Swan MX By Gary Willer TYLER, TX, FEB. 12 Jason Jessup rode six motos, competed in three classes, and with the same results each time. Jessup went I-I en route to winning the 80cc Stock, 80cc Senior and 125cc Novice classes. jessup jumped right to his winning ways with the 80cc Stock first moto holeshot and promptly wired the victory. jimmy Gaddis, jack Ricks, joe Close and T.j. Mooney were second through fifth. jessup jammed the second round wi th the identical order of finish through fifth. Jessup, on his jessup Sportcycles Yamaha, captured two more of his six vi'ctories when he ran off and hid from the 80cc Seniors. Second place both mOLDs was Gaddis. jimmy Mount (3-4) was third. Although jessup trailed through turn one in both 125cc Novice starts, the results remained the same - two more firsts and another class win. Steve Hill holeshot moto one and finished second both races. Chuck Koonce (3-4) was third. Brint Burkham led the pack to post the second holeshot and battled to a 5-3 fourth overall. Rusty Pipes proved his Expert prowess, pounding out class honors in both 125cc and 250cc Expert encounters. Honda-mounted Pipes compiled 1-1 slats in taking all Expert motos. Pipes' Honda led Suzukimounted Todd Young and Stuart McAvoy to the line in both 125cc bat·· tles. Trailing Pipes to the tape in 25Occaction were Tony Nielson (Suz) and Tim Cone (Kaw). Also worth mentioning were the efforts of class winners Jay Jostrand (250cc Novice), Kevin Rivers (Over 30), Brent Carrazales (125cc Intermediate) and Paul York (250cc Intermediate). • Results 60: 1.
