I~. L.- A - RIDE THE SUPERCROSS SERIES! The 1984 Supercross tour will be conducted by INSPORT. This new organization has been formed to manage the Supercross Series and create the very best Supercross racing possible. INSPORT will- be officiating and conducting the Supercross series for PACE Management,'Stadium Motorsports Corp.. Supersports. New West Productions, Racer Promotion, E.S.P. Inc. and Delta Motorsports in 1984. INSPORT will provide an organization that is responsive to the need Jor rapid decision making, be more flexible and located in Southern California to maximize communications with manufacturers, after-market suppliers and the enthusiast press. REGIONAL QUALIFIERS INSPORT believes that each Supercross should showcase the best current point standings. Heat race finishing positions 1-4 transfer directly to the Main Event. Heat positions 5-15 transfer into one of two semi-final races, consisting of ten laps each. The top two finishing riders in each of the semi's transfer to the Main Event. Semifinal positions 3-12 transfer to the Last Chance, 5 lap consolation race where only the winner transfers to the Main Event. The championship final Main Event is 20 laps with 21 riders competing. In addition INSPORT has the choice of six qualified riders per event and the balance of 22 slots are allocated for regional qualifying and preliminary motos so INSPORT achieves the maximum caliber riders and a full field. He is well qualified to manage INSPORT with over 18 years of experience in the motorcycle industry and 16 years at U.S. Suzuki in sales and marketing positions, most recently as Vice President, Marketing. A top priority of INSPORT, will be to help promote more motorcycle sales thru increased crowds and media coverage. Those riders participating in the qualifier events will be sent Supercross entry forms once they have qualified at the regional races. Complete Supercross race day information will be supplied to each rider upon acceptance of their entry. SPONSORS Rider Entry Fees will be $35 for each Supercross event. This includes the rider entry pass and two (seat) tickets. Mechanics Entry Fee, (back' gate, pit pass) will be $15 for each event. Licensing requirements, fees and .' other rider regulations are covered in detail in the Rule Book. The 1984 Supercross races will be exciting by featuring the top contestants and a format that gives riders several opportunities to make the Main Event Final. After the preliminary qualifying motos (which determine the balance of the field), the feature program begins. Four heat races, of ten laps each, made up of eight riders from the current Supercross l!tandings and seven riders from the qualifiers for a total of 15 in each heat race. SUPERCROSS CALENDAR • LICENSING & ENTRIES RACE FORMAT motocrossers available to compete. Good racing and quality production in prestige facilities will generate the fan and national TV support that will cause the sport to grow. To achieve a race field that is' the most competitive possible, regional qualifiers will be conducted prior to each Supercross. Riders from all of the various pro licensing bodies may pre-qualify to race an INSPORT Supercross. From these regional qualifiers tAe top riders will advance to preliminary qualifying motos to be run at the stadium on Supercross race day. INSPORT Speciallnvitations may be extended up to 6 qualified riders. The top 32 available riders from the 1983 Wrangler Supercross standings will be invited to participate in the Anaheim event as seeded riders and need not ride regional qualifiers. This is a special event with a $30,000 first place and $50,000 total purse. Contestants will be the winners of each 1984 INSPORT Supercross event, the outdoor 125, 250 and 500cc champions, the world champions and the national champions from countries such <\S Australia, Canada and Japan. This race of the Miller Masters will offer the largest first place special race payout in Supercross history. INSPORT is in negotiations with Wrangler for the 1984 tour to be the Wrangler Supercross Series. Wrangler has been a valuable sponsor for Supercross the past two years and INSPORT hopes that this association can continue in 1984.
