Suzuki rider Karen Leitinger kept the pres ure on Gonzales in both mows but had to settle for second overall ahead of Yamaha rider Debbie Matthews and Suzuki pilot Kitty Mayfield. Suzuki rider David Clements continued the South's domination of the championshjp by winning the Open Intermediate class over Honda riders Casey McCoy and Kenny Garnicp. Glen Wells powered his Honda to the 250cc Intermediate win over Yamaha-mounted Ron Economu and , third-place finisher Bill Scott, who rode a Honda.
