Micky Dymond claimed the number three slot at' the payoff window, pushing his Husky waterpumper to the checkers in front of Honda-mounted Val Tameitti. Honda rider Brian Manley swept both 125cc Pro mows in front of a tough three-way battle for second. Yamaha rider Mercedes Gonzales dominated the Women's Pro race, sweeping both motos in commanding fashion to take home the big money. Suzuki rider Karen Leitinger kept the pres ure on Gonzales in both mows but had to settle for second overall ahead of Yamaha rider Debbie Matthews and Suzuki pilot Kitty Mayfield. Suzuki rider David Clements continued the South's domination of the championshjp by winning the Open Intermediate class over Honda riders Casey McCoy and Kenny Garnicp. Glen Wells powered his Honda to the 250cc Intermediate win over Yamaha-mounted Ron Economu and , third-place finisher Bill Scott, who rode a Honda. Alan Olson took charge of the Vet Expert race despite tough competition from Honda rider Danny Sanchez and Yamaha pilot Tom White, who finished second and third respectively behind the Husky-mounted 01 on. Honda ace Shawn Kalos flew his 80 Pro Linker to the Mini Expert win. Yamaha rider Mike Young gave chase in both mows but had to settle for the runner-up spot at the checker .
